City Manager

The City of Post operates under a council-manager form of government. The City Manager is appointed by the city council, which is the governing body responsible for setting policy. This system combines the strength of an elected Mayor and City Council with a professional manager and staff. The City Manager is responsible for the proper administration of the affairs of the City. 

Other Responsibilities

  • Overall direction and coordination of the city to provide services and projects in an efficient manner

  • Submits the annual budget

  • Implements the policy direction established by the City Council

  • Advises the Council on matters affecting the City

  • Appoints professionals to direct departments responsible for a wide variety of services provided to the community

  • Administers and oversees city operations on a day-to-day basis

  • Monitors the city’s financial position

City Secretary

The office of the City Secretary is responsible for compiling and maintaining the legal records of the actions of the City.  The City Secretary:

  • Serves as the clerk of the City Council and Water department

  • Prepares the City Council agenda and maintains the permanent records of all City Council meetings

  • Attends all meetings and prepares official minutes of their meetings

  • Publishes official notices of City Council action

  • Manages and conducts all City elections, including City Council elections

  • Maintains ordinance and resolution records

The City Secretary also over sees the Human Resources department and assists the City Manager as needed.

Assistant City Secretary

The Assistant City Secretary is responsible for aiding and assisting the City Secretary.  Job duties range from Water Utility Administration to Human Resources.
