Caprock Economic Development Corporation
The Caprock Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) serves as a driving force for growth and opportunity in Post, Texas. As a Type B economic development corporation, we focus on initiatives that enhance our community’s quality of life by supporting infrastructure improvements, retail and commercial development, job creation, and community projects.
Guided by the spirit of our new slogan, “We Choose Post,” the CEDC is committed to fostering a thriving community where businesses and families alike can succeed and feel at home. Under the leadership of Kristina Janét-Sherrill, CEDC collaborates with local businesses, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders to promote Post as a vibrant place to live, work, and invest.
Façade Grant
Eligibility Requirements
As part of the CEDC Façade Enhancement Project, The Caprock Economic Development Corporations will be offering matching reimbursement grants to businesses within the municipal limits of Post, Texas for the purposes of façade enhancement. To be considered for the program, all interested business owners must complete and return the attached application and all necessary documents requested. Applications for businesses outside of the municipal limits will not be considered. All applications will be reviewed by the Board of Directors and grants will be awarded at the discretion of the Board of Directors. A completed application packet does not guarantee a grant award. No individual grant will exceed $10,000.00 and each grant is set to a 50/50 matching percentage, meaning business owners will need to supply 50% of the total cost of enhancements to be considered for the grant program. All applicants approved for the grant program will enter into a Performance Agreement with CEDC and must submit copies of invoices and receipts for all grant funds.
Grant funds may only be use on an exterior portion of the building that is visible to the public. Grant money may not be used for interior renovations or roof repair. Specific suggestion for improvements are listed (but not limited to) these below:
- Façade facelift: painting, trim work, awnings, windows, doors
- Front porch enhancements – railings, porch repairs, support columns, shutters
- Appropriate signage – signage located on the building façade as well as signage located at the entrance of the property
Grants funds may not be utilized for items such as landscaping, planters, plants, or anything easily removable from the property. Other items not listed above that may fall within one of the categories may be considered on a case-by-case basis and may or may not be approved for grant funding at the discretion of the Board of Directors.
