CEDC MARCH 2025 MINUTES
CEDC Meeting
The CEDC met on Thursday, March 21, 2024 for the regular monthly meeting. Those present were Mark Kirkpatrick, Kristina Sherrill, Tina Sims, George McDonald, and Pixie Grisham.
Mark called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.
There were no citizen comments and minutes to review.
Tina Sims noted that she would like to be more active and involved with Kristina, in any area that Kristina could use a hand.
Kristina then gave her Director’s report.
1). Noted that the council gave approval in moving forward with the façade grants.
It was stated that Shellee Odom has already been in contact with Kristina, regarding
application for said grant.
2). Noted that Poka-Lambro will be competitive with T-Mobile on pricing for hot-spots
during community events.
There were no community activities to discuss. There were no directions from CEDC to take
action on.
Connect the Dots was then discussed. Mark stated he felt the event should focus on highlighting strategic goals, being: 1). job creation 2). small business support 3). education
4). infrastructure upgrade 5). community engagement
The date for Connect the Dots has now been rescheduled for Thursday, May 16th. The CEDC will then meet the following week, Thursday, May 23rd, to review and discuss the input from the event. More discussion on this topic will be addressed at the next CEDC meeting, set for Thursday, April 18th.
It was also stated that Highway 84 needs to be “cleaned up”, as well as various dwellings in town.
Kristina then made mention of dates that she will attend various functions, being
a Retail Conference in Las Vegas in May, Regional ED meeting in Tahoka on May 30th, and Highgroud meeting May 1, 2.
NO other business was addressed, no other questions or comments. The meeting was adjourned at 5:03 p.m.
